Sredinom prošle godine, kulturna rubrika Bi-Bi-Sija sprovela je anketu među 177 filmskih kritičara iz 36 zemalja, sa ciljem da izglasaju najbolji film od 2000. godine do danas.

Mulholland Drive nam je došao uklet. Odbijen je kao pilot televizijske serije, navodno zbog konfuzne priče, glumica koje su smatrane prestarima, uznemirujućih slika i pojavljivanja stare holivudske zvezde En Miler u sceni gde puši cigaretu. Linčov film je maštarija o seksu, samoubistvu. On je takođe Amerika, lepa i bizarna istovremeno, romantična,disfunkcionalna, okrutna i apsurdna. Mi volimo filmove, ceo svet voli filmove, no američka često nastrana i nadrealna težnja ka glamuru, kada se okrene naopačke, može biti zastrašujuća kao najgora noćna mora’ , Napisala je kritičarka Kim Morgan.
